Campaign Rules
As ever, the standard forum rules apply to all campaign content. The campaign’s start date is February 13th, 2021; these forum sections are not open until then.
The Archanis Campaign forums have three sections:
Official Releases. This contains all information from the Lore Office, from OOC information like this, to OOC summaries of plot points, to IC fiction releases that are campaign-critical. If you read nothing else before getting stuck in, read everything here.
Starbase 27. This is a play-by-post section of the forum for role-play revolving around Starbase 27. All content here is open to engagement from any member. Please refer to that section’s
Campaign Missions. This is for all members’ personal writing and is the main focus of the Archanis Campaign.
To get involved, first please read the Briefing Document and take follow-up queries to the Lore Office or your Task Force Staff.
In addition to the usual rules, please bear in mind the following for the campaign:
The main focus is on individual members’ writing in the Campaign Missions. Collaborative writing is welcome, but this is not an open role-play event by design.
Flexibility is key to allow everyone to get involved. This campaign will not define, for example, the exact number of colony worlds in the Archanis Sector or the size of Kuskir’s forces. This provides space for all stories to co-exist.
All members can be involved. If you have an avatar ship, you're welcome to write with that. If not, feel free to write your primary character assigned a hefty runabout and a team and dispatched from Starbase 27 for their missions.
Respect the stories of other players; if they introduce a plot element, do not alter it without their permission. Communicate if you want to build on the stories they tell.
Conversely, we do not expect everyone to read everyone else’s work in detail. Focusing on your own narratives and communicating when writing together should avoid contradictions, but accept minor inconsistencies may happen.
Adherence to content in the Official Releases section, however, is not optional. We will keep the section updated with summaries and fiction as the story progresses, incorporating key events from members’ writing.
If a contradiction happens somewhere, don’t sweat it. Either live and let live, or edit and move forward.
If you want to write with others, we encourage communication on Discord or another format. Consider writing drafts somewhere like Google Docs together before you release them.
Task Forces may introduce their own stories into the event. Involvement in or cooperation with other Task Force members is purely optional. You can write any story within the campaign you want, and collaborate with members in any Task Force if you wish.
