Starting the Day Right
[Day 2: 0530 hours]
[Corridor, Cargo Deck]
It was almost certain that sleep would be hard to come by during the week of the Osiris Initiative Conference. Meetings and briefings would begin early, and the social events would run late. Neither of these could be skipped, of course; participation in the briefings were required, and the social events were where most of the real work happened.
Juliet had been to enough of these events to know exactly how to manage the early mornings and late nights, one of which was healthy, the other less so.
- Caffeine and lots of it
- Physical activity
And so at 0530 she found herself wearing her exercise clothes and jogging in the corridors outside secondary cargo bays. Being stationed on a station of the same class, she knew the optimal jogging areas. The promenade would be ideal, but even at 0530 it was far too busy. So the next best area, especially during busy times, was the circulate corridor around the secondary cargo bays, which was wide, mostly unoccupied, and the complete circuit came to about nine kilometers. Even just one lap would be an amazing morning run.
She had experience on Guardian-class stations, but didn't want to withhold knowledge of her secret running trail. That wouldn't be good for the team. So she decided to be a good officer and post somewhere, visible only to the officers visiting for Osiris, this path and her own plan for morning runs. Maybe she would run into someone.
