Starbase Bravo is the home of the 4th Fleet. As a large, modern Guardian-class orbiting the Betazoid colony Mellstoxx III, it boasts the facilities to support the Fleet Command’s needs. The original spacedock was constructed during times of tension with the Klingon Empire and the long, cold silence from the Romulan Empire, and was thus within striking distance of both territories. Now the newer, more expansive station supports all fleet operations, including the training of senior cadets and junior officers destined for service in Bravo Fleet.
This area is open for threads to be created by anyone who would like to write as a cadet at Bravo Fleet's academy, but it is primarily intended to serve as an area for members within the Starbase Bravo unit to write fiction. Here you can write as a cadet character or as a recently-minted junior officer eager for their first posting out in the fleet.
These stories might be:
Survival training in the wilderness on the planet's surface.
Flight training aboard Starbase Bravo itself.
Cadet cruises aboard training vessels
Roommate dynamics and other character development stories
Please make sure your thread follows the forum rules, and bear in mind the following for writing in this section:
- Starbase Bravo has no plot you are required to adhere to. You are encouraged to come up with your own stories.
- These stories should be fairly self-contained, episodic adventures that do not massively change the canon of the region.
- You are free to write on your own, or collaborate with others. Reach out to members of Starbase Bravo on Discord if you want a writing buddy!
- You don’t need to worry about length; posts and stories can be as long or short as you want. We encourage good spelling and grammar so your writing can be easily enjoyed, but nobody will be enforcing this!
- If possible, keep your own writing in one thread. But if a story is completely separate, don’t be afraid to start another.
- Make sure to keep a tally of your wordcount and record it in BFMS!
